Over the past few years, I’ve met a scarily high number of people who’re so gifted! It’s hard to not get envious. They’ve got the brains to work on the next BIG idea that’s going to transform the way we do things. They’re highly opinionated. And they’re ambitious.
But there’s one thing that concerns me… execution.
I don’t see many. In fact, the disparity between the number of ideas vs ideas that get implemented is alarmingly high! So much so that the respect for the “gifts” that these people have isn’t worth anything at all.
Imagine how good it would be if Superman just retired? Would the world be a safer place? (Alright, I know it sounds corny… but you got the idea. Right?)
As Gary Vaynerchuk would put it, “the amount of people gifted with the ability is scary high! It’s the next part that matters! To me, it’s just the reps. That’s all that matters.”
So, what’s happening with your next BIG idea? If you’re still thinking about it… chances are you’ll continue to think about it by the end of this year. And the next year. And the one after that.
What’s the next step? What are you doing to ensure that your next BIG idea becomes a reality? Are you scared it’s not good enough? Or you just may fail?
How would you know if you haven’t even tried it?
The next step matters! Take it!
