I found it stunning because this is the first time anyone has ever combined two extreme aspects — minimalism and ambition — and relate to GaryVee. Most of his followers want to be the next him without realizing the amount of blood, sweat, and tears he puts into his work. And we know some want to be him so that they could brag all about the hustle.
The most contrasting points of view, however, were from Joan Westenberg, a blogger whose article Gary Vaynerchuk Is Trying To Kill You went viral with more than 600,000 views! And I wanted to punch Joan to his face when I’d read that piece last year. I didn’t… because better sense prevailed and he wrote a follow-up post I Was Wrong. This post isn’t about GaryVee or the incredible things he does. It’s about a perspective that goes beyond all that hustle and ambition. I believe it’s about finding meaning in what you do.
