If you’re like me, you’ve seen and heard it all.
- I don’t have the right gear to start podcasting!
- I don’t have the right gear to start my video career!
- I don’t have the right gear to create an audio, video, blog post or even do something as random and basic as let’s say make a video call to your parents!
I don’t have to tell you these are nothing but excuses. Because they are and if you think there’s grain of truth in these, you’re in da-nile (spelled denial, it’s not a name of a river dammit)!
A bunch of Nigerian teenagers (known as ‘the critics’) were passionate about sci-fi videos. Heck, they wanted to make one but they didn’t have the money or the right background to make their dreams comes true. So, they thought of using what they had to produce short sci-fi movies. Their smartphones and other everyday, random stuff laying around their house.
And here’s the short movie they produced. It’s worth 5 minutes of your time because you’ll be ashamed of what a bunch of creative teens can do when you were scratching your head and procrasting about what’s not going great in your life.
And take a look at some of the visual effects broken-down for a scene from their short below and read some more about The Critics and how they came about.
Cool, right? If you have some healthy criticism to share, well, save it. They don’t need one. Nor does the world. What we all do is to see you take the leap and do what you want to do with no excuses. Can you do that?
Stop killing your dreams. Do the work!
