Just blend it in!

As a coffee connoisseur, I always find myself looking for the best kind of beans, roast-levels, or even coffee plantations in and around India. All for making that perfect cup of freshly brewed coffee (pour-over, always) each morning.

However, there are times when I’m not satisfied with the flavor or feel something is missing or could be better. It kind of ruins the mood, but then, I always order two batches — an experimental batch of beans along with a bag of standard French (or Viennese sometimes) roast coffee. So, I still have a backup.

I used to throw out the batch and order another one or send it back to the roaster (if that was an option) up until a couple of years ago. Then I started to experiment and blend the not-so-great beans with my go-to variant. And bam! I realized how easy it is to create your blend.

You don’t have to live with a batch of beans that isn’t up to the mark, nor do you have to be a master blender or roaster to do this: add a scoop (10 grams) of the not-so-great coffee with a scoop of your favorite batch. That’s it! And voila! You now have an all-new blend of coffee! Experiment with the volume and adjust the strength and flavor. And you should be all set.

The big idea is that you don’t have to settle for what you don’t enjoy. Mix things up, make a ruckus, and do whatever it takes to make it exciting. Life is too short to let bad coffee ruin the day for you.
